Heals up

Heals up

Heals up

While tension is an auburn color

It reflects a conflict between the feathers

And breeds the result of an uncertain bird

Who feels he must try all to have his druthers

When he fails at one thing, his ego is bruised

Resentment resulting from success's dare

Prevents him from acknowledging the ruse

That led to any buttressed air

The wind beneath his sails is light

Insufficient to keep his wings afloat

Other birds or falcons cannot grasp

Why his tough days just don't pass

And then he tends to feel guilty

For calling attention to the rough days

Which, for self-awareness sake, wouldn't be real

In light of the other birds, who struggle for meals

But then he realizes with zeal

The true colors of frustration

Are actually shades of teal

And his woes heal like an abrasion
